We know that Roger has reached the peak of being Pet Sampras, now who you think can overthrow his greatness?  I guess, we will just keep on watching Roger and all the matches he has especially the 2009 U.S. Open which is currently on full swing in New York.

Updated 9/20/09:  We knew that Roger was defeated by Del Potro.  So, sorry for Roger’s followers which includes me.  He was challenged big time this time in New York.

Craig Ferguson, nicknamed Bing Hitler was born on May 17, 1962 in Glasgow, Scotland-United Kingdom.  His childhood nickname is Tubby.   By August 1994, he was established as one of Great Britain’s leading comedian, had a huge success in Edinburgh Festival.  By January 1995, he moved to Los Angeles where he work as actor-writer-director-producer-creator.

Craig, has written and performed 3 stand-up comedy album.  He started as musician played drums and guitar.  In April 2006 he published his first novel, “Between the Bridge and the River”

This show is  produced by David Letterman, who also produced the then popular comedy show “Everybody Loves Raymond”  The Late Late Show location is in Los Angeles, California; time from 12:30AM to 1:30AM nightly from Monday to Friday.   Craig, tookover the show beginning the year of 2005 after Craig Kilborn left.   Craig Ferguson, is also known as Mr. Wick  of the Drew Carey Show.

Do you have a favorite late TV show, if you do, why and compare.

Each one of us TV viewer,  has favorite TV show.  Myself, I have on Channel 8 or the CBS Family TV show.  I have 2 favorite late TV shows on Channel 8:

A:  “Late Show” with David Letterman; this is a nightly live show hosted by David Letterman himself from 11:30PM to 12:30 AM,  from Monday to Friday, location New York City.  This is produced by Letterman’s production named Worldwide Pants, Inc.  The show started on August 30, 1993 and it was on high definition since August 29, 2005.  David, an American originally from Indiana, his Pseudonym is Earl Hofert.

B:  Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Scottish born American host, originally from Glasgow, Scotland.  Craig, is a stand-up comedian, writer, director and actor. Both shows are of thesame platform.  Comedy is very similar on both shows, and the difference is the location; David Letterman is in New York City and Craig Ferguson is in Los Angeles, California which is East Coast and West Coast part of the United States..mean to say the time difference is 3 hours.

Last night, July 15, 2009  Paul McCartney was the special guest of David Letterman.  It was a big hit  (rating wise) for David Letterman.  As if there was a big concert in New York City.  He also has the Top Ten List every night..which is real fun.

For Craig Ferguson, he added some new spice for the show..like puppets, more dancing and singing in the show on which Craig is the main performer.  One of the best episode for Craig is<em> <strong>Episode 908</strong></em>, called Craig  Boogies to White Lines..he danced with puppets and other performers with Duran Duran’s White Lines.

Both late shows are fun even though it could affect your sleep pattern.  And just remember;  in my experience anyway,  once you have favorite shows you tend to follow or watch them no matter what.  This is meant that, and I will just admit it, I am addicted to it.  This is what entertainment is all about.  As long as we are happy, it is worth spending our time and money.   Am I right!!!

Martina Hingis

Martina Hingis, my Tennis Idol; a retired professional Tennis player who was ranked world’s number one for 209 weeks.  She won 5 Grand Slams on Singles and 9 for Doubles; which is 3 for Australian,  1 for Wimbledon and 1 for the US Open.

She was born in Slovakia,  on September 30, 1980 whose Mother is Czech and a Hungarian Father.  She began playing tennis at the age of 2 and began playing on tournaments when she was only 4 years old.  She moved to Switzerland at the age of 8,  she then represented Switzerland and she turned PRO in 1994.  Her mother was her Coach, who was also a Professional Tennis Player.

When she was 12 years old, she won the Junior Grand Slams at Roland Garros in 1993 twice.  She set the series of youngest-ever records until the year 2002 at the age of 22,  temporarily withdrawn on professional tennis due to Ligaments Injury.  After recuperation on surgeries and other health issues, she came back on the year 2006 and won 3 singles, and ranked Sixth on the World Tennis Assocition.

She then officially announced for Retirement on November 1, 2007 , after admitting of positive Test on Cocaine during Wimbledon but she denied using the Drug.  On January 4, 2008 she was banned on professional tennis for 2 years after the test turned positive.  She stated that she will return on Tennis after the ban expires.

Roger was born on August 8, 1981 in Binnigen near Basil, Swtizerland to Swiss National Robert Federer and South African born Lynette Du Rand.  He grew up in suburban Munchenstein near Basel; closed to French and German borders.  He speaks Swiss German with his family and he can speak fluently in English, German and French  and that he holds press conferences in all three languages.  He was raised Catholic and met Pope Benedict XVI while playing the 2006 Internazionali BNL d’ Italia tournament in Rome.

Roger started playing tennis at the age of 6, began participating group lesson at the aged of 9 and began weekly private coaching the following year.  He played football until the aged of 12 when he decided to focus solely on tennis.  At fourteen he became the national champion of all groups in Switzerland, and was chosen to train at Swiss National Tennis Center in Ecublens. He joined the ITF junior tennis circuit in July 1996, and in 1998 his final year as Junior, he won the junior Wimbledon title and the prestigious year ending Orange Bowl.  He was recognized as the ITF World Junior Tennis Champion of the year.

Roger was married on April 11, 2009 to her long-time girlfriend former Womens Tennis Association Player, Miroslava “Mirka” Vavrinec.  They met while competing for Switzerland in 2000 Sydney Olympics.  Vavrinec was Roger’s Public Relations Manager beginning in 2002 after she retired from Tennis of persistent foot injury.  On July 24, 2009, Roger announced on his Facebood page that Mirka had given birth to Twin Girls; Myla Rose and Charlene Riva on July 23, 2009.   What a happy ending Roger and Mirka. Congratulations to both of You.

Roger, is currently the world’s number One Tennis player.  He had 15 Singles Grand Slam titles, which include; 3 Australian, 1 French, 6 Wimbledon, and 5 United States, on which the Two 2009 was from Wimbledon and French and hopefully for the upcoming United States Singles.  He had 4 Doubles Grand Slams 1 each: Australian, French, Wimbledon and United States.  In Major Double Tournament won Gold Medal in 2008 Olympic Games.

I first known Charice from my Scottish friend who live in Edinburgh, Scotland late months of 2008, and each time we have webcam, Jon open the link of Charice. 

Charice, is a part of our conversation all the time, and I began to get curious about her. So, out of my curiousity,  I browsed  her songs at different websites like Vodpod, YouTube, Metacafe, Bing, Itunes, Amazon and all.  I also went to local Music Store, and finally bought her album, My Inspiration.  I am inspired by the first song of the album, “Always You” then after listening for few times while driving to work, the album impressed me.  She has a very captivating and unique voice.

I joined Twitter few months ago, and found out that Charice has Followers  from all over the world.  These fans are from all generations, and  inspired by Charice.  Each time I read the Followers Tweets about her, I  leave comments once I am inspired by the Blog that Followers  or Fans generated for her. 

On May 8, 2009, I and Jon flew to Las Vegas, to see the David Foster & Friends concert scheduled May 9th 2009, and May 10th for Charice 17th Birthday Party. The concert was very successful, and we were surprised that Donny Osmond, Paul Anka, and Cher were special guests. I have seen the 2008 DVD of David Foster & Friends concert, so I already have an inclination that the concert of 2009 is also good or if not it is better.

Finally,  for the first time I met Charice on her 17th Birthday Party in Giorgio’s Restaurant in Las Vegas.  I was impressed by her warm gestures  to all of us.  She is so courteous and very respectful.  She posed for group picture, signed autographs and renderred some songs for us.

Since then, I have been following Charice by reading all the websites for her,  read about her life and listening her songs.  Also, I am now booked for a flight to New York to see her concert in Madison Square Garden and in Newark’s Prudential Center. I am looking forward for the concert this coming October.
